AGİM SALİHU

Agim Salihu was born in 1951 in Prishtina, Kosovo. He graduated in 1977 from the Fine Art  Academy-Department  of Printmaking  in Prishtina, and earned his Master of Fine Arts in 1979 at the Fine Arts Academy in Zagreb, Croatia. From 1999 to 2001, he obtained the International Fellowship of IPWA in Paris - France, for a two-year stay in Grosseto, Toscana-Italy. In 1991 he also obtained a fellowship in the USA, where he had the opportunity to present and exhibit his artwork at the most recognized and prestigious art institutes and professional studios there, including Washington DC - Corcoran Academy, Alexandria Virginia, Art Institute Chicago Illinois, Albuquerque-Santa Fe New Mexico (Tamarind Institute), New York and Rosendale. As a visiting artist and visiting professor he presented and exhibited his artwork and lectures in Art Institute of San Francisco, California, Art Institute Portland, Oregon, Kala Institute Berkley, California and many other professional studios. He is the recipient of many awards, including: 1989-Grand Prix, Drawing Biennale, Zagreb – Croatia, 1986-Grand Prix, Special prize in International Drawing Biennale, Tuzla, 1984-Grand Prix, in International Drawing Biennale, Zagreb-Croatia, 1984-Grand Prix, in International Drawing Biennale, Tuzla, 1983-Grand Prix, in International Drawing Biennale, Tuzla. He worked on printmaking at IMOGA in 2006. His works are in collections in the following countries: China, Japan, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Kosovo, Turkey, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, etc.
