DEMİR KARDAŞ
Demir Kardaş was born in Istanbul in 1950. He completed his BA at the Istanbul University, Academy of Economics and Trade, in 1974. He completed his MA at the Işık University Academy of Fine Arts Institute of Sociological Studies, (Thesis: Art Theories and Criticism). He started painting in 2004. After meeting Ergün Başar in 2006, he started to work on drawing, composition and original printmaking. In 2008, he attended the 2008 - 2009 Etching Training Seminar offered by IMOGA. He learned techniques and practices under the leadership of Eda Tekcan. In 2012, he was awarded with the Original Printing 2012 Achievement Award at the 71st Painting, Sculpture, and Artistic-Printing Competition, organized by The Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. His art works are included in public and corporate collections.
