EROL KINALI

He was born in 1944, in İskenderun. In 1965, enrolled in Ankara Gazi Education Institute Painting Department. In 1968, he graduated from the Gazi Education Institute Painting Department and started teaching art at Artvin Primary School. In 1968, he won the contest of the Ministry of Education. In 1969, he went to study in Munich in accordance with the law no. 1416. Between 1970-1975, he graduated from the Munich Academy of Fine Arts with degree “Meisterschüler” after five years of education. In 1975, he worked in Ankara for the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. In 1976, he started teaching at Hacettepe University and then “Technical Higher Teacher Training School for Girls." Between 1977-1982 he worked as a faculty member at Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts. In 1982 he went to Bonn, Germany. In 1983 he received his “Proficiency in Art” from the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts. In 1984, he worked as an educator and artist in Bonn. He opened studios in Bonn, Bad Godesberg. In 1993, he worked in his studio in Königswinter. He became member of the art associations, ‘Beruf Bildender Künstler’, ‘Bonn-Rhein-Sieg Kreis’ as well as the founder member of ‘eins+vier’ in Königswinter, and ‘Bungertshofer Künstlergruppe’ in Bonn-Bad Godesberg. He worked on printmaking at IMOGA in 2005. In the same year, he became the chairman of Bungertshof Art Association. He organized exhibitions in Bungertshof-Margarethenhof-Königswinter. He took part in artist exchange programs between Germany and Turkey. He went on to research trips in Italy, France, Spain, Britain, and Austria. Kınalı’s works are featured in various collections in both private and state collections in Turkey, Germany, USA and Japan.
