GÜNGÖR TANER

He was born in 1941 in Istanbul. He studied at the Nurullah Berk studio in the Department of Painting of the Istanbul State Fine Arts Academy (now known as Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University). In 1971, during his participation at the Salzburg Summer Academy, he worked in the atelier of Corneille. He opened his first solo exhibition in 1981 in Istanbul. Between 2002-2006, he produced printmaking at the Istanbul Museum of Graphic Arts. Taner continues to serve as a faculty member at Mimar Sinan University, and continues to live and work in Istanbul.
