GÜRBÜZ DOĞAN EKŞİOĞLU

Gürbüz Doğan Ekşioğlu was born in Mesudiye, Ordu. In 1979, he graduated from the Graphic Arts Department of the State School of Applied Fine Arts (Current Name: Marmara University Graphic Design Department). He worked in an advertising agency for 1 year, and became a research assistant in 1981, completing his qualification (doctorate) in art in 1986. The artist is the recipient of 27 international and 44 national awards. He also received the 1997 Sedat Simavi Visual Arts Award. He opened 34 solo exhibitions, 3 of them abroad. His artworks have been published in more than 30 countries. His 7 cover works were published on New Yorker magazine, and one cover work was published on Forbes magazine. His numerous illustrations were published in the New York Times newspaper. He worked on printmaking at IMOGA in 2005 and in 2015. He is a jury member in many national and international competitions. The artist, who is still working as a staff member at Yeditepe University Faculty of Fine Arts, continues his studies in his studio in Moda.
