He was born on May 19, 1939 in the Terkos-Durusu Village of Istanbul. Between 1946-1961, he studied at Terkos Primary School, Kırklareli-Lüleburgaz Kepirtepe Village Institute Teacher School and Ankara Gazi Education Institute, Department of Painting. Between 1967-1968, he was sent to France with a Turkish Republic government scholarship. He did an internship at the National Education Institute of France. He studied making copies from the art works of Cezanne and Van Gogh at the Louvre Museum. He worked as a decorator in Polatlı while serving as an artillery lieutenant between 1971-1972.

Between 1961 and 1973, he worked as an art educator at Sivas and Bolu Male Teacher Schools for 12 years, as a lecturer for 26 years at Marmara University Atatürk Faculty of Education between 1973-1999, and as deputy director, head of the main art branch and head of the department in different periods. Between 1979-1981, he worked as a lecturer in original printmaking courses at the State Academy of Fine Arts, School of Applied Industrial Arts. Between 1975-1985, he worked with distinguished Turkish artists at Alte Graphics-Camlica Art House Original Printmaking Studios.

In 1984, he received his Proficiency in Art diploma from Marmara University.He became associate professor in 1986 and professor in 1992. In 1999, he retired voluntarily from his work at Marmara University Atatürk Faculty of Education, Fine Arts Education Department, in order to allow new career opportunities and to concentrate on his works in his personal art studio. He took part as a founding staff member of the Feyziye Schools Foundation Işık University, Faculty of Fine Arts, which was established in 2007. Between 2007 and 2019, he worked as a faculty member at Işık University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Visual Arts. The artist continues his work in his private studio. In 1999, he published his book, "Before Skecth After Skecth", containing 311 black-and-white and color sketches. His works are in various public institutions and private collections. As of January 2013, he opened 19 solo exhibitions and participated in 124 group exhibitions.
