MEVLÜT AKYILDIZ
He was born in 1956 in Ankara. He completed primary school at Ankara Lalahan and high school at Istanbul Pertevniyal High School. Between 1973-1974 period he entered Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts (now known as Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University), Master Painting department. In 1981 he graduated from Neşet Günal studio. Akyıldız, who also made caricatures throughout his academy years, produced original printmaking at Çamlıca Art House in 1985. From 1988 to 1989, he worked for the Provincetown Art Colony sponsored by the United States Information Agency (USIA) and the Art Colonies Foundation. Akyıldız, who opened many exhibitions in Turkey and abroad, has been awarded many prizes througout his career. The artist continues to live and work in Istanbul.
