RUTH BRENNER

She was born in 1942 in Germany. After completing her secondary education in Germany, she received a nursing certificate from the University of Würzburg in 1949. In the same period, she began her private painting with Greete Kaltenegger. Between 1957-61, she continued her work in Colombia and participated in the art activities of the German Culture and Art Group. From 1961 to 1970, she was a student of Prof. Matejka Felden at the Vienna School of the Arts. She settled in Germany between 1970-75. However, in 1975, she returned to Vienna to continue her artistic activities with Manfred Ebster. During this period, she attended various summer academies. The artist, who came to Turkey for a period, continued deepening her artistic activities in Istanbul. During this period, in 1986 and 1990, she produced fine art prints at Çamlıca Art House. From 1991 to 1997, she worked in Mexico producing paintings, graphics and other art activities. Upon her return to İstanbul in 2007, she continued producing original printmaking at the Istanbul Museum of Graphic Arts. Currently, Brenner lives and works in Germany.
