ZEYCAN ALKIŞ
She was born in 1966 in Ankara. She started painting studies in 1970, under the supervision of Eşref Üren and Osman Zeki Oral. She graduated from the Textile Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 1986 and from the Photography Department of the same university in 2021. In her graduation project, she used an etching technique on "silver print photograph". Alkış, who studied painting in the workshops of Devrim Erbil and Zekai Ormancı during her education, participated in Süleyman Saim Tekcan Printmaking studio at Çamlıca Art House in 2001 where she produced original printmaking works. She attended the studios again at the Sakine Çil Ceramics Studio in the same year and then at the Istanbul Museum of Graphic Arts in 2007, she worked on original printmaking with Prof. Süleyman Saim Tekcan and in 2008 her original printmaking exhibition was opened within IMOGA. The same year she attended the 32nd FISAE CONGRESS, Beijing / China. She worked on printmaking at IMOGA in 2008, 2010 and in 2012. The artist continues to work on painting, etching, illustration and photography. Alkış has opened many personal exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions, including the First International Original Printmaking Biennial and the Exlibris Exhibition opened in Milan. The artist lives and works in Istanbul.
